Interreg NPA Programme Manual

3. How to apply?

The Interreg NPA selects projects for funding based on a competitive call for project proposals: the Interreg NPA Youth Call.

To receive funding, you must read the Terms of Reference for this call and submit a project application describing the project objectives, work plan, how much it will cost and with which organisations you are going to work with.

The application form must be completed online on our platform Jems and must be submitted before the deadline of the call, on 2nd October 2026 by 12.00 noon CET.

Your questions

Can I see what the Application form looks like?

Sure, below you can download an empty Word version of the application form and an empty budget file for each type of project.

📁 See it! 6-month projects

📁 Shape it! 12- months projects

📁 Make it work! 18-months projects

Please note that we can only accept applications submitted through the Jems platform.

What else is needed for submitting the application?

Each organisation participating in the project must include mandatory attachments signed by people authorised to sign on behalf of their organisations (legal representatives).

  • Lead Partner statement (download here)

  • Partner statements (download here)

If a private company is participating in the project as a partner, they need to also attach the latest certified annual report and an extract from an official company register, identifying the enterprise in the application, preferably in English. See the guidance here.

Is there any guidance for how to write a project application?

Interreg NPA has prepared a generous number of guides, webinars, and templates to help you with your application process (all available at Youth Call page).

We further recommend:

  • Reading through the Interreg NPA Programme Manual, which covers the application process fully, from here.

  • Checking out our Youth Track events #1 and #2 for some fundamental help.

  • Registering forhe “Ask us anything & JEMS” event on September 9th and get all your questions answered. Register for the session in here.

If you still have questions:

  • Contact the Regional Contact Point (RCP) in your country to get guidance in your own language and from your local perspective. Find the contact details for the RCPs here.

  • Book an online meeting with Joint Secretariat Desk Officers for individual feedback and support at any time from January to September 2026. You can find the contact details for the Desk Officers here.

Can I use AI to write the application?

First things first: do not rush the application process. Take the time to develop your project idea together with your human project partners, ensuring shared understanding and ownership.

We recognise that artificial intelligence tools can be helpful in drafting and structuring application content. However, the partnership remains fully responsible for the content submitted in the Application Form.

We therefore recommend carefully reviewing and refining any AI-generated text to ensure it is realistic, accurate, and fully aligned with the ambition and scope of the proposed project,  as this is what the partnership will ultimately commit to delivering.

The assessment team is experienced and able to recognise generic or low-quality AI-generated content. Overreliance on such content may affect the credibility of your application.
